Hubei Huimin Appears at the the Belt and Road Booth of Wuhan Seed Expo

On June 3, 2024 Wuhan Seed Industry Expo was grandly opened in the North Park of Wuhan Academy of Agricultural Sciences. More than 3000 new and excellent varieties of more than 500 agricultural enterprises were intensively displayed. Hubei Huimin, with a number of star products, made its debut at the the Belt and Road booth.

Corn has the Southwest single product "Huimin 380", with an annual sales volume of over 1.2 million kilograms; As a representative variety of genetically modified organisms in Hubei, "Huimin 207" has begun a new layout in the Northeast genetically modified market.

In terms of rice, there are Wei twin stars, "Wei Liangyou 534" and "Wei Liangyou 1019", which have performed well in the Anhui and Hubei markets and are in short supply.

As a traditional advantage crop cotton, Xinjiang Huimin has achieved a historic breakthrough this year. As early as 2019, Hubei Huimin took advantage of the proximity of Xinjiang to Central Asia and began to try to layout the Central Asian market. This year, seizing the historical opportunity, the export volume of cotton seeds exceeded 1300 tons, and the export volume of cotton single products ranked first in the country.

At the opening ceremony, 30 agricultural seed industry projects were signed in a centralized manner, with a contract amount of more than 3.3 billion yuan, including two "the Belt and Road" cooperation contracts. The signing of the "Cooperation and Development Agreement on Cotton Breeding and Industrialization in Central Asia" between Hubei Huimin and AGRO BEREKE of Uzbekistan received special attention from the media and peers on the scene.

Taking this opportunity, both sides have agreed to deepen cooperation, expanding from simple seed trade to localized breeding, testing, and industrialization cooperation. The market scope has expanded from Uzbekistan to five Central Asian countries, and the crop categories have expanded from cotton to corn and rice, opening a new chapter in the expansion of Hubei Huimin's overseas market.
