2016 China Brand Agriculture Forum Held in Kunming

On November 6, the 2016 China Brand Agriculture Forum was held in Kunming, Yunnan Province. Vice Minister of Agriculture Qu Dongyu attended the forum. He stressed that agricultural departments and market entities at all levels should actively carry forward the "craftsman spirit", consolidate the foundation of brand work, improve the quality of agricultural products, tap brand culture, innovate marketing and promotion means, and promote China's transformation from a big agricultural country to a brand power.

Qu Dongyu pointed out that the "13th Five-Year Plan" is a critical period for the realization of agricultural modernization. To promote the construction of agricultural branding, we must focus on the "three builds". First, the county as a unit to create a number of regional public brands. It is necessary to deeply explore and integrate regional agricultural resources, strengthen regional brand building management services, gather and extend brand core competitive advantages, and enhance brand influence. The second is to build a number of enterprise brands based on agricultural leading enterprises. We should pay attention to giving full play to the leading and demonstration effect of leading enterprises, increase policy support, encourage enterprises to take various ways to improve brand awareness, reputation and customer loyalty, and constantly enhance the value of industrial brands. The third is to use farmers' cooperative organizations as the carrier to create a number of brands of characteristic agricultural products. It is necessary to skillfully use regional differences and variety differences to create a "small and beautiful" brand of characteristic agricultural products with cultural heritage and regional characteristics.

It is understood that the forum is one of the major events of the 14th China International Agricultural Products Fair. The forum released the "China Brand Agriculture Yearbook".
