On April 22, the Ministry of Agriculture held an on-the-spot meeting on the prevention and control of major wheat diseases and insect pests in Anyang City, Henan Province, requiring all localities to put the prevention and control of major wheat diseases and insect pests in an important position in the current agricultural production, act quickly, base on disaster resistance and ensure a bumper harvest, step up efforts, strengthen measures, and go all out to "seize grain by insects" to build a solid foundation for a bumper harvest of summer grain.

The meeting pointed out that all localities should fully understand the severe situation of the epidemic of major wheat diseases and insect pests and the importance of doing a good job in prevention and control, so as to ensure that wheat scab, spike aphids, stripe rust, etc. do not break out in large areas, and the damage loss of diseases and insect pests is controlled within 5%.
