Jingzamian 142 is a breeder: Jingzhou Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Institute of Biotechnology, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, a cotton variety bred with variety Hubei Kangmian 9 × Jing 079 (Hubei Kangmian 3 × GK19). On October 8, 2011, it was approved by the fifth meeting of the Second National Crop Variety Approval Committee, and the approval number was the National Cotton 2011011.

Feature properties:

Transgenic insect-resistant medium-maturing hybrid varieties with a spring sowing period of 123 days in cotton areas of the Yangtze River Basin. Seedling emergence is better, strong growth, not premature aging, spit flocculent. The plant height is 115cm, the plant type is loose, the fruit branches are long and flat, the stems are thick and hairy, the leaves are medium in size, dark green, the node position of the first fruit branch is 6, the boll per plant is 28.5, the boll is long and oval, the weight of a single boll is 6.3g, the clothing fraction is 41.4, the sub-finger is 10.5g, the flower rate before frost is 94.6, and the rigid petal rate is 7.7. Resistant to Fusarium wilt and Verticillium wilt, resistant to cotton bollworm. The average length of the upper half of HVICC fiber is 29.5mm, the specific strength at break is 28.4 cN/tex, the micronaire value is 4.9, the elongation at break is 6.4, the reflectivity is 75.6, the yellow depth is 8.1, the uniformity index is 84.8, and the spinning uniformity index is 138.

Yield performance:

From 2006 to 2007, the yield per mu of sub-cotton, lint and pre-frost lint was 264.8kg, 109.6kg and 104.0kg, respectively, increasing by 5.0, 11.1 and 12.1 per cent, respectively, compared with the control Xiangzamian No. 8. In the production test in 2008, the per mu yield of sub-cotton, lint cotton and lint cotton before frost were 232.9kg, 97.6kg and 91.2kg respectively, which were 0%, 5.1 and 6.1 higher than that of the control Xiangzamian No. 8 respectively.
